I worked on the revision of our research paper entitled as "Dual-organ market: Coexistence of deceased and living donors". The paper proposes a plausible allocation mechanism for lung-donor markets, while we point out several flaws of the current Japanese mechanism.

本年度の研究成果としては次が挙げられる。確率的配分を与えるマッチング市場に関わる研究成果として、家屋配分モデルにおいて事前的効率性（ex ante efficiency）と戦略的操作不可能性（strategy-proofness）のもとで、均等配分下限性（equal division lower bound）や対称性（symmetry）よりも弱意のある公平性を満たすマッチングルールは存在しないということを示した（ただし、各個人はvon Neumann-Morgenstern効用関数で確率的割り当てを評価し、期待効用を最大化する経済主体である）。この結果は、くじメカニズム（lottery mechanism）の設計問題におけるGaleの予想を証明したZhou (1990)の定理をより強めた結果になっており、確率的マッチングメカニズム設計問題における、効率性・インセンティブ両立性・公平性の３者間にある両立不可能性がより深刻なものであることを示している。また、事前効率性のもとで、戦略的操作不可能性をグループ戦略的操作不可能性に強めた場合には、はるかに弱い公平性概念である正値性（positive expected utility guarantee）を満たすマッチングルールが存在しないということも示した。
また、複数財割り当て問題（Multiple assignment problem）に間接的に関連する成果として、複数財割り当て問題と並列的マッチング市場を組み合わせたモデルである複数臓器移植ドナー配分問題に関する研究成果を筑波大学ワーキングペーパーシリーズの１編として公開した。 -
Toward the introduction of donor exchange programs for liver and lung transplantation

In organ transplantation, there is a shortage of donors. A donor exchange program - exchange of donors between incompatible donors of patients, is an effective way of saving more patients via living donor transplantation. In addition to the living donor transplantation, we consider a hybrid transplantation that transplants one lung from a deceased donor and one lobe form a living donor. We proposed a desirable mechanism for liver and lung transplantation. Moreover, we have conducted questionnaires for patients and donors as well as general people unrelated to transplantation. As a result, almost all people supported the donor exchange program. We statistically analyzed what would be obstacle for its social acceptance.

誘因両立的かつ効率的な資源配分ルールの設計に関する理論的研究

(1)資源配分ルールに関して、戦略的操作不可能性と効率性及び公平性とが両立不可能であることを示唆する多くの研究結果を受けて、Sasaki(2003)は次善的効率性という概念を提案した。本研究課題では、この概念をみたすルールとしてどのようなものが存在するのかを明らかにすることことを試みた。23年度には、論文"Second-best Efficiency of Allocation Rules:Strategy-proofness and Single-peaked Preferences with Multiple Commodities(with Hiroo Sasaki)"を海外の論文誌に投稿した。
(2)Sprumont(1991)によって研究された個人の消費集合が1次元であり、各個人は単峰的選好を持つモデルは、戦略的操作不可能性と効率性及び公平性とが両立可能であるモデルとして知られている。
また、このモデルにおいては、Thomson(1994)が明らかにしたところによると、公平、効率的かつ整合性をみたすルールはuniform ruleと呼ばれるルールのみであることが知られている。23年度には、財が分割不可能である場合に上記のような帰結が維持されるのか否かについて研究を行なった。得られた結果は、ルールfが戦略的操作不可能性、効率性及び公平性(ここでは弱意の非羨望性)をみたすならばfはtype-1 uniform ruleとよばれるルールであること、ルールfが整合性、効率性、公平性(ここでは弱意の均等配分下限性)及び資源に関する連続性をみたすならばfはtype-2 uniform ruleとよばれるルールであること、である。以上の結果を"On the problem of fair division of indivisible goods when preferences are single-peaked"と題する論文にまとめた。 -
