This research project promotes a concept of “East Asian Classical Studies” that elucidates an organizing principle from the viewpoint of texts written in kanji about the classical world that developed across East Asia and describes its various phenomena through international collaboration. Moreover, as the formation of a center of research to be inherited by the next generation, this project continuously held seminars and workshops on research methods and prepared related documents and data. In particular, 1) a total of thirty-eight sessions such as seminars that linked the latest achievements to the implementation of research methods, workshops that focused on the discussion of presentations by next-generation researchers, and the publication of many articles and books based on these events, and 2) creating a draft of English-language materials for teaching kanbun and holding experimental classes, can be said to be important achievements that will open up future prospects.

今年度も、『古事記』の精読が研究の軸となった。研究遂行の具体的な成果としては、まず2011年6月19日、高岡市生涯学習センターにて開催された古事記学会6月大会にて、「『古事記』豊玉毘売と火遠理命の贈答歌について」という題目での研究発表を行った。これは『古事記』における歌と散文の表記法の違いに着目しつつ、従来見過ごされてきた語句の解釈に着目することで、歌と散文からなる『古事記』の表現のありようを問い直すものである。この発表については、現在論文のかたちで学会誌への投稿を予定しており、執筆を継続中である。
さらに昨年度に引き続き、国内外の学会・シンポジウムに積極的に参加し、古代東アジア漢字文化圏に関する研究の最前線で情報収集に努めた。具体的には、6月の上代文学会大会、8月には第7回若手研究者支援プログラムに参加した。特に若手研究者支援プログラムにおいて開催されたシンポジウム「古事記と万葉集」は、上代日本における書記の問題を議論する場となり、筆者の関心にも合致し、多いに刺激を受けることとなった。また10月には昨年度に引き続き韓国に渡り、第29回国際学術シンポジウム・韓国日本文化学会第41回国際学術大会等の学会に参加し、現地の教授・学生と意見交換をすることができた。また国立中央博物館では木簡等の文字資料の閲覧・資料収集を行った。さらに百済時代の城郭跡「公山城」を見学し、発掘現場を実見する機会を得た。
以上が主な研究実施状況となる。テキストの精読と、古代東アジア漢字文化圏という視野の広がりを確保することを意識しながら、成果発表の場を持つことができたと考える。
