This study presents a comparative examination of the recruitment and retention of non-family employees in family businesses in Japan and Taiwan, with particular attention to the influence of differing institutional frameworks. Key institutional factors(such as the practice of simultaneous recruitment of new graduates, regulations concerning secondary employment, access to training opportunities, and the transparency of promotion processes)emerge as critical determinants of human resource management. The analysis further reveals a notable disparity between employers and non-family employees in their perceptions of the causes of employee turnover. This gap underscores the importance of enhancing mutual understanding through improved communication and the development of more flexible organizational practices.

Previous project (No. 23530546) demonstrated that the relationship between price and customer-perceived value, quality and customer-perceived value and sacrifice and customer-perceived value are moderated by COO, respectively. This study intends to investigate whether the COO influences customer-perceived value in the same way with reference to services products. Our results indicate (1) the proposed COO-service scale is reliable and valid. (2) the moderation effects on price and sacrifice are significant in the developing countries when purchasing services products (for example, financial services and early childhood learning programmes) (3) COO plays a role as a moderator when purchasing a service product.

This study aims to investigate the pivotal roles played by the female relatives of the owner in the context of Taiwanese-owned Chinese family business (CFBs) by adopting a mixed-methods approach. A theoretical model was created and tested. The key findings suggest that the female relatives of the owner in CFBs did contributed significant to the firms in terms of conflicts management, succession process, professionalization and human resource management. Their contributions have closed associated with the performance of the CFBs.

The purpose of this research attempts to extend prior work by revisiting the Country-of-Origin (COO) literature across disciplines, conceptualizing an updated COO construct, and linking COO to other marketing variables such as price, value, quality, sacrifice and satisfaction and proposing a rather comprehensive research framework. The findings indicate that consumers had different reactions to the COO effect in three scenarios. For instance, when purchasing wooden toys for infants, risks did have stronger effects on customer-perceived value and purchase intention.
