In October 1995, Kitaro Nishida's 50 undisclosed notebooks and a large number of memos were found in Nishida's descendant's home. Edited "Ethics Lecture Note" and "Religious Studies Lecture Note" among the notes that have been restored, the primary reprint of the material, and the secondary reprint, and in September 2020, from Iwanami Shoten as "Kitaro Nishida Complete Works Separate Volume". Published. In addition, all pages of the 50 notebooks will be referred to as the "Kitaro Nishida Notebook Digital Archive" on the homepage of the Kitaro Nishida Memorial Philosophy Museum in Ishikawa Prefecture. Published. Based on these research results, we provided new texts and research materials on Nishida's philosophy, which has been the cornerstone of Japanese philosophy history to this day.

"This project aimed at thinking philosophically about different questions of translation", delving into the concrete problems of language and translation in Japanese philosophy. “Translation” in this case does not mean only “rendering a text from a certain language into another language”, but it is also used to mean that “translation-reinterpretation entails a philosophizing process”. Scholars from Western countries, Taiwan, and Japan collaborated to investigate the concepts-terms of the philosophies of the Kyoto school, Marx, and sutras of Buddhism by connecting them to diverse problems taking place in the history of philosophy from a transcultural viewpoint. In addition, the questions of “language and non-language” and “expression” were examined in Izutsu Toshihiko’s theory of consciousness, Nakai Masakazu’s film theory, and the contemporary “Japanese tanka” poet’s experience of creation.

We have tried to clarify characteristics and significance of modern Japanese philosophy, which was formed since the era of Meiji by accepting the Western philosophy, in comparison with the philosophy of other East Asian countries. We have attempted also to transmit the productive results of the Japanese philosophy toward the world.To this end, we have held international symposiums at Academia Sinica in Taiwan (January 2012), at Kangwon National University in Korea (March 2012) and at Beijing Foreign Studies University (September 2012). We could introduce by these symposiums the East Asian researchers to the modern Japanese philosophy and discuss its characteristics and contemporary importance with them. The results of researches and discussions in Korea are already publicly-available and other results will come into the world at some point in the near future.
