We suggested the application of the database as a method to enhance validity of interpretation of the Rorschach. An enormous amount of information stored in the database could be objective evidence for interpretation. In this period, the following researches using this database were conducted: (1) proposition of the concept of visibility and activity in the Rorschach human movement response, and discussion of their application to psychopathological assessment, (2) reexamination of the interpretation hypothesis of the animal and the inanimate movement responses in the Rorschach, and (3) examination of the personality features described in the Rorschach through comparing with TAT.

Basing on a database, we developed the scoring assistance system for the Rorschach. This system is effective to enhance the reliability of the scoring. In this period, we proposed a new psychopathological index utilizing this system. We examined the extent this index can differentiate various psychopathologies. The findings were broadly consistent with the characteristics of each psychopathological disorder, as described in the scientific and descriptive literatures. Consequently, the proposed psychopathological index appeared to successfully characterize various forms of psychopathology.

We developed the database management system for the Rorschach and accumulated data more than 540 cases. This database is in a state of readiness for various research including a standardization study. In this period, the following researches using this database were conducted.
1.The Reliability and the Validity of Scoring
The reliability and validity of scores on the Rorschach were examined by comparing three different type scores for the same protocols, coded by the subjects, the examiners and the third person. The result shows lower reliability and validity in Kataguchi categories of rare detail, inanimate movement, and texture. This results could be attributed to (1)lack of specificity in the scoring rules, (2)lack of consideration for subjects' inner experience, and (3)inadequate preconceptions of scorers.
2.A Characteristic of Psychopathology Emerging in the Human Responses
This study focused on the relationship between the Rorschach human responses and psychopathology. Human responses were analyzed in terms of the outer-inner-combined activities (Takase, 2005), the active-passive dimension, and the articulation based on Blatt's concept. Participants were 53 patients with anxiety disorders, 51 patients with schizophrenia, 12 patients with borderline personality disorders, and 87 non-patients. The results showed that the analysis in this study differentiated the three types of psychopathology.
3.Reexamination of Popular Responses
This study examined the Rorschach popular responses (P).Participants were 214 adults. We found that some frequent contents are not listed in Kataguchi's P list (e.g., animal face for the whole area on Card 1 ; monster for the whole area on Card 4). On the other hand, some contents listed in Kataguchi's P list did not appear frequently (e.g., animal for D2 on Card 7 ; animal skin for the whole area on Card 6). These results suggest that P might change with times and culture. -

研究実績
われわれが開発した,ロールシャッハ・テストのデータベース(Rorschach Data System;以下,RODSと略)を用いて,今年度は,以下に示す2点の研究をおこなった。
第一は,ロールシャッハ・テストのスコアリングに関する信頼性・妥当性の検討である。この研究では,11名のテスターによって実施された69名分のロールシャッハ・データを,テスト受検者およびテスターの了解を得たうえでRODSに登録した。そして,この69名分のプロトコルについて,受検者・テスター・テストに同席していない第三者のそれぞれに独立にスコアリングを行なわせた。その結果をRODS等を用いて分析したところ,特殊区分反応,非生物運動反応,陰影材質反応などでスコアの信頼性・妥当性が低いことが確認された。本研究の成果は,現在「ロールシャッハ法研究」誌に投稿中である。
第二は,ロールシャッハ・テスト上に現れた言語表現に関する研究である。この研究では,運動反応の中に示される動詞を独自の視点から分類し,RODSに登録された各病理群および健常者群(計463名)の中でその出現頻度を比較検討した。この成果は,2003年9月に行なわれた日本心理臨床学会第22回大会にて発表した。
この2点の研究においては,言語,領域図,スコアなど,ロールシャッハ・テストの全情報を蓄積・管理できるRODSを用いたからこそ,その統計処理を迅速に遂行し得たと思われる。
なお,RODSは,2004年7月に東京・金子書房よりコンピュータ・ソフトとして「操作ガイド(研究手引書)」とともに出版されることとなった。
