当該年度は、過年度に引き続きコロナ禍で海外調査や海外研究者との研究交流が著しく阻害されたものの、その代わりに当初の課題を新しい方向に展開させる契機が得られた。
当該年度中に発表した実績としては、アルジェリア人研究者との協力で制作した『アイト＝メンゲッレト詩集』が挙げられる。これはカビール語（アルジェリアのベルベル語の一派）の現代歌謡のオリジナル・アンソロジーであるが、すでに生ける伝説となったカビールの詩人歌手ルニス・アイト＝メンゲッレトの詩＝歌詞をフランス語と日本語に編訳し、ローマ字表記のカビール語原文を添えたものである。制作に当たっては詩人本人の許可のほか、その詩の専門家であるアリー・シバニ博士の全面的な協力を得た。アイト＝メンゲッレトは少数言語の擁護者としてNHKのドキュメンタリーに撮られたこともあるが、口承言語の振興と教育への寄与のみならず、宗教や政治のイデオロギーや古い慣習に抗う詩の内容においても、まさにユマニスムの実践を行なっている。
また、ラシード・ブージェドラのポストモダン的アラビア語小説『ジブラルタルの征服』や最新のホシーン・タンジャーウィー『あらゆる男たちもまた』の精読を通じて、フィクションとしての歴史への介入、あるいは主流の歴史の語りからこぼれ落ちた物語の不在そのものを焦点化する試みを検討した。
アヴェロエス（イブン・ルシュド）の現代的受容についても、その理性主義とヨーロッパ文明への寄与を強調する研究のみならず、むしろ一般読書人への影響が大きいと思われる歴史小説（例えばジルベール・シヌエの作品群）においてアヴェロエスがどのように描写されているかに注目した。 -

Based in the "Japanese Association of Maghrebi Literature", we have conducted a joint study of the North African Literature (especially in Algeria), which had developed significantly since the middle of the 20th century. We have analyzed its historical development in light of the concrete works (and their reception) as a hybrid corpus at the crossroad of the world-wide Francophone literatures, including the Eastern Arab region (Mashrek), the Arabic Literature from inside and outside of the Maghrebi region, and the vernacular culture of Berber people. In addition, international symposiums were held on an ongoing basis to strengthen research cooperation with overseas researchers.

The research proposes the two Japanese terms, i.e. utsuwa and utsushi for the paradigmatic change of the heretofore dominant Western model of cultural transmission. In the latter the binary opposition between original and copy has been predominant, and the notion of originality has been appreciated at the detriment of the reproduction. However, the current mass copy culture with electric media has made it obvious that such value judgement can not any more keep up with the current situation. The research has proved this fact through international conferences and public exhibitions held in the Maison de la Culture du Japon a Paris in 2017, and at the London University of Arts in 2018. Similarly, several academic conferences have been conducted overseas for the sake of propagation and sharing of the idea and finding. The ultimate result will be published in Japanese in a book form under the English subtitle, Metempsychosis and Passage, forthcoming in 2019.

Our research was conducted on works produced in the Middle East in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, and Hebrew, but also on those outside the geographical boundary of the Middle East, in the European language like English, French, German, and Italian, by those who have their historical origin in the Middle East, and it has revealed, through transregional analysis of the representation of “Watan/Homeland” that appear in various texts, both literary and visual, part of the social and historic states of the modern Middle East and their dynamism, focusing on “the Watan”, as well as their similarities not limited by national border or regional boundaries, and natures peculiar to a specific country or region. The research also shows experiences of the people of the modern Middle East, answering to the universal question “what is homeland to a human being?”.

While the orthodox of "world literature" has been defined almost exclusively by the Western literary world (one composed of publishers, readers, and critics of literary works) and canonical literary collections have been compiled in a similar way, our research dealt with the languages and regions regarded as "semi-peripheral” or “peripheral”, which deviate from the geopolitical “center” such as Europe and the US, focusing on orality (as contrasted with a literature written and often silently read) and islandness (to be geographically separated from the center and thus achieving unique development). And we, literary researchers who focus on various countries and languages, gathered together to present and discuss each one’s research, and were able to explore a new perspective on "world literature."

Humanities has been institutionalized in accordance with the "faculties" of human subjects, but it is now of great urgency that it be reformulated as <scientia> of "living beings" in general. Young scholars in various fields, who shared this sense of urgency, formed the "Ecosophy Collective" so as to search for a possible invention of certain unconventional and innovative forms of "interdisciplinary collaborative research" by virtue of the collective fieldworks and dialogical collaborations with non-academic practitioners such as artists and community workers. Apart from those "practical" achievements, we have also been engaged in a "theoretical" project whose objective is to bring the "ecological turn" in literary theory into that of the humanities in general. Those practical as well as theoretical pursuits have successfully found their solid points of departure during the designated research period and enjoyed certain recognition both interdisciplinarily and internationally.

アルジェリアを中心としたアラブ＝ベルベル文学の比較文化的研究を目指した本研究は、研究代表者の本務校鹿児島大学の地理的・文化的特色を活かしつつ東アジア海洋地域との関わりの中で遂行された点に特色がある。
まず韓国比較民俗学会と合同で鹿児島大学島嶼教育研究センターに国際シンポジウムを開催、奄美群島のヴァナキュラー文化についてフィールド調査を行ったほか、同センターにおいて日中韓合同の「東アジア海洋フォーラム」にも参加。さらに韓国フランス学会の招聘を受け、大田の培材大学校に開かれた国際シンポジウム「アルベール・カミュと北アフリカ」で基調講演を行い、同じく招聘されたアルジェリアのベジャーヤ地方劇場演劇祭のシンポジウムでは、北アフリカの前演劇的パフォーマンスを上述の奄美調査で得た知見と噛み合わせて論じることができた。
加えて、フェスティバル／トーキョーのレバノン演劇上演に際しては解説資料を執筆し、国際演劇協会日本センターの「紛争地から生まれた演劇」のためにアルジェリアの戯曲を翻訳、上演にあたってポストトークを務める等、アウトリーチ活動にも努めた。

Extensive networks of Lebanese and Syrian migrants: Multifaceted self and spatial imagination

Lebanese and Syrian migrants’ conspicuousness in their global activities is supported by their high adaptabilities to the different cultures and by their strong extending networks. They exchange information of different values between their families and friends, who are also in the move, in order to open new businesses and sometimes exert politics of their home and residing countries. Multiplicity of their identity and complexity of their relationship-building tools are always maintained and developed. The historical origin of this behavior can be traced back to non-Muslim merchants and interpreters in Ottoman Lebanon and Syria.

近現代アラブ＝ベルベル文学におけるモダニティとナショナリズムの受容と展開

まず、前年度に完成させた博士論文「コスモグラフィーとしてのカテブ・ヤシン作品:アフリカ性と民衆の詩学をめぐって」が無事審査を終え、当該年度初めに学位が授与された(国内では初めてのマグレブ文学を対象とした博士論文)。これらの研究蓄積をもとにして、カテブに先行する作家ムールード・フェラウンに関する研究を進め、6月にはフランス語による論文を提出(アルジェリアの国立研究所CNRPAHから出版予定)、中東研究アジア大会(韓国中東学会担当回)の折には釜山で研究報告を行った。また、マグレブ文学研究会を立ち上げ、これを母体として11月には「ムールード・フェラウン没後50周年記念シンポジウム」を早稲田に開催し、アルジェリア文学に特化した本邦初の公開講演会を実現した。くわえて12月には、京都大学人文科学研究所主催・科研基盤(S)「日本表象の日本型グローバル研究」共催の国際シンポジウム「人種神話を解体する」(京都国際会館)に参加し、植民地アルジェリアにおける人種表象の問題を、植民者作家たちの文学運動「アルジェリアニスム」に即して論じた。2月には「2012年度立命館大学国際言語文化研究所冬期企画1「大日本帝国植民地と文学の言語」立命館大学のシンポジウム「大日本帝国植民地と文学の言語」で「異言語に敗北を抱きしめる:金石範からムールード・マムリへ」と題した報告を行い、比較植民地文学研究に着手した。
特にシンポジウムでの口頭発表を多く実施した年となり、前二年において蓄積した研究の成果をさまざまな場所で発表し、新たなパースペクティブのもとに発展させていくこととなった。加えて、アラブ=ベルベル演劇・文学に関する一般向けレクチャーを四回実施し、アウトリーチ活動に努めた。
