We extracted the communities located in the coastal area and clarified the characteristics of them using the 2015 Agriculture and Forestry Census data and the results of the national census, taking Ehime Prefecture as an example. We categorized them used the employment rate data by industry and analyzed the agricultural area types of the communities included in each type. As a result, of the total 3,284 communities, 628 (19%) were coastal communities, and 23% (340,000) of the population lived there. In addition, from the viewpoint of agricultural area type, it was found that the ratio of hilly agricultural areas is high and agricultural land is often used as upland in coastal communities. As a result of cluster analysis using the ratio of employees by occupation as a variable, coastal communities were classified into 6 clusters. As a result, it was found that in the coastal area, mountainous agricultural communities are areas where fishing industry is thriving, and flatland agricultural communities are mostly citrus-cultivated areas using slopes. The high proportion of hilly agricultural communities is due to the development of relatively large orchards and the narrowness of the forests found on the islands and peninsulas. As a result, the number of communities not included in the mountainous agricultural area increases due to the increase in the cultivated land ratio or the decrease in the forest field ratio. Furthermore, it was found that many communities specializing in primary industry are in areas with high geographical isolation, and that the number of workers per community is small in these communities.

<p>This study clarifies what support policies are needed in the medium- to long-term, such as over 5 years, for farmers who are considering resuming farming at evacuation destinations. The support policies include processes of farming resumption at evacuation destinations and after return to the original destination. Our analysis of eight farmers' resumption processes of Iitate Village showed that for medium- to long-term evacuation, it was clearly necessary to maintain the farmers' motivation to resume farming and consider the farming style at that time.</p>

<p>In this study, we analyze migration requirements and the migration intention of the emigration applicant in the capital area. As a result, in the ranking of migration requirements, there are many respondents who selected jobs and houses as the first place, and the goodness of medical care and the natural environment etc. is often ranked third and fourth. It is necessary to clear basics condition to support the life such as the work and house to lead to migration. In addition, possibility chosen as an emigration place increases in work and a house if medical care and natural environments are good.</p>

The purpose of this study is to reveal the change in consciousness of local residents caused by farmers' restaurants enterprises, which have been attracting attention as part of the entrepreneurial activity among farmers. First, we selected two farmers' restaurants for analysis. One was located in rural area and the other was located in residential area. Next, we carried out a questionnaire survey concerning recognition, visit frequency, and change in consciousness about the farmers' restaurants among local residents. As a result, many local residents in the rural area recognized the farmers' restaurants and visited frequently. In the residential area, some residents did not recognize the farmers' restaurants. However, it was found that farmers' restaurants had affected their consciousness.

This study's purpose is to clear the process of reproduction of Tsunami struck farmland and factors to form farming organization by interview survey and participant observation in Otomo district and Hirota district in Rikuzentakata city. Farmers in both districts had organized to keep the farmland before the Tsunami disaster, because it was difficult to ensure full-time farmers. These organizations have done the reproduce farmland in each district after the Tsunami disaster. The reproductions of farmland have been carried out community farming organization in the both districts. But the form of community farming organizations was different because of the farm situation and habits in the district. Otomo district is one unit area. Hirota district is divided small. And the existence organization is effective as the capacity of the consensus building.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the national trend of local self-governing organizations at the small autonomous unit. It depended on the questionnaire survey to 575 municipalities merged after 1999. Local self-governing organizations exist in 43.4% of the municipality merged after 1999. There are a lot of municipalities where local self-governing organizations exist in the municipality with large area. The opportunity of the organization making is the distance with the administration by merging of municipalities. And the present conditions evaluation to local self-governing organizations by person in charge of municipalities is excellent.

The Agricultural Land Act was revised in 2009 to allow corporate entry into Agricultural business through farmland leasing. The number of corporations that lease farmland from farmers is increasing. The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence on regional agriculture by corporate entry. We surveyed management of farmland use rights and behavior of farmland owners. The right adjustment related the farmer in all regions and was executed. Farmland owners rented their farmland to corporation without much of hesitation.

We analyzed habitat preference for foraging or resting the site of Jungle crows (<i>Corvus macrorhynchos</i>) and Carrion crows (<i>C. corone</i>) in Morioka, northeastern Japan. During breeding and non-breeding seasons, we found that Jungle crows foraged and rested in urban and leafy residential areas while Carrion crows rested in urban or leafy residential areas but foraged especially at rice paddy fields. Our findings implied that garbage would be more important food resource for Jungle crows than that for Carrion crows. In addition, we revealed that these two species were sympatric in urban and agricultural areas preferred foraging sites for both species.

This paper studied out how to use changing after non-cultivated land in suburban area. Consequently, as for non-cultivated land, cultivation was resumed by lending the land to other farmers and by repair of their agricultural machines. However, many farmlands were owned as non-cultivated land because the farmers who owned the land refused to lend the land to others.

In this research, the method of continuous maintenance of the agricultural water supply structure by the cooperation of the local resident is examined from result of the questionnaire. The questionnaire was executed in the Kohge district in Tottori prefecture deeply related to Andou-ide which is the historical agricultural water supply structure. The content of the questionnaire is amount of knowledge of Andou-ide, about the person and the place that knowledge of Andou-ide was offered, about the visit to relating facilities, about the maintenance of relating facilities. Result of the questionnaire was totaled dividing into the farmer and non-farmer. And, the relation between the agricultural water supply structure and the local resident was multilaterally examined in the Kohge district.

The purpose of this study is to clear outline of direct sales shops and effects of sales of farm products in direct sales shops on farmhouse. Direct sales shops are build by the promotion plan of municiplities or growth of the group of agricultural processing. Effects to farmhouse by direct sales are the increase of proceeds, extension of friendship, the change of the mood in family and the change of a farming attitude. The change of a farming attitude is the most important of all effects.

Until now the problem of abandoned agricultural field is understood as a problem only within mountain region. Certainly the rate of abandoned agricultural field in the mountain region in 1990 is the highest among the four region types. And the region in undulated and mountain region shares more than the half. But now the problem become worse also in urbanized region. The increase rate of abandoned agricultural field in urbanized region is the highest from 1985 to 1990. So the authors studied distribution and factors of abandoned field to analyze agricultural census in1990 in urbanized municipalities in Kanto region.<BR>Firstly, distribution in urbanized municipalities was studied. The municipalities that the rate of abandoned paddy field is high are mainly distributed in a circle between 20km to 50km from theurban core of Tokyo. The municipalities that the rate of abandoned upland field is high are also distributed in a circle between 30km to 60km.<BR>Then, relating factors in urbanized municipalities was studied. The factors of abandoned paddy field and upland field are not the same. The characteristic factors of abandoned paddy field are agricultural infrastructure improvement and land value. The characteristic factor of abandoned upland field is labor force in agriculture. And the main factor of all abandoned agricultural field is existing in agriculture itself. But the factors about the impact from urbanization have a strong influence on abandoned agricultural field. So if farming environment in urbanized area is not so better than undulated and mountain area, the problem in urbanized area become worse.
