    機械学習アルゴリズムによる非線形イコライザの高性能化・高機能化については、昨年度に続いて大きな成果が得られた。まず、ニューラルネットワークを用いた非線形イコライザについては、これまで3層のものを主に検討していたが、4層以上のディープニューラルネットワークを用いた場合の特性がこれまで明らかになっていなかったところ、その特性の解析が進んだ。ディープニューラル化することにより、イコライザの関数表現能力は向上すると考えられるが、過学習がより強く出てしまうことが明らかになった。今後、非線形イコライザとして最適なニューラルネットワークの形を明らかにしていく予定である。また、非線形イコライザにおいて過学習が発生する原理についての解析手法の研究についても進展があった。パターン認識などの分野で使用されているヒートマップを用いた手法を応用する手法を提案した。現在はまだ始まったばかりの新しい研究課題であるが、非線形イコライザを解析する新しい手法としてさらに検討を進めている。光学的手法とディジタル信号処理を組み合わせた新方式の研究については、提案方式である位相共役Twin-SSBについてBack to Backでの基礎実験に成功していたが、さらに50kmの光ファイバを用いた実験にも成功した。さらに長距離の伝送と特性の改善を進めているところである。Twin-SSBのテーマについては、非線形歪みの特性解析やKramers-Kronig受信を行った場合の特性解析なども行い、学会発表を行った。

    We investigated pump power coupling technology for side-pumping of double-cladding-type Er-doped multicore fiber amplifier. We clarified that coupling efficiency and coupling length can be improved by controlling high-order modes of the pump power. Furthermore, we studied the applications of the investigated multicore amplifiers in optical fiber communication systems including radio on fiber and multi-level coherent optical communication systems.
